Also called centralised authorisation procedure – a procedure of the European Medicines Agency which provides for a single marketing authorisation valid in all European countries, including the EU, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. This procedure is mandatory for certain specific indications and diseases (e.g. AIDS, cancer, diabetes etc.).
